To our Valued Patients,
I want to personally reach out to each of you to let you know
that we share the concern you and your families have regarding the
Coronavirus outbreak. I want to take this opportunity to assure you that
you can continue to visit our dental office with confidence. We have put
into place screening measures prior to each patient’s visit to ensure they
are not exhibiting symptoms of the COVID-19 infection to help maintain the
safety of all visitors to our office.
The health, safety and well-being of our employees and patients
is our top priority. Some of you may be aware that the infection control
standards for dentists in Alberta are the highest standards in North
America. Approximately 10 years ago, all dentists were required to make
changes in equipment and office layout to ensure that Alberta dental
offices exceeded the infection control policies of any jurisdiction in
Canada and the United States. Although there were major expenses to
accomplish this, we are seeing the wisdom of these changes at this moment
in time. The infection control policies we already have in place at our
office are to protect patients from ALL infectious diseases, whether they
be the Coronavirus or any other communicable disease. We continue to
maintain these standards and feel we are being extra vigilant at this time
to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
In the past week we have seen the impact COVID-19 has had on
our community. We want you to be confident in the fact that we are in
close contact with the Alberta Dental Association and College and other
Governmental Health Agencies and are taking the proper precautions as this
situation evolves.
If you are unwell but have a dental emergency, we have
protocols in place to accommodate you without endangering the health of our
staff or patients.
